Our choruses do not require an audition. Instead, we would rather help you work to become a better singer. After all, you don't get better without practice! Here, you will find a family — singers who have come together to sing regardless of race, creed, age, religion, or sexual orientation.

We strive to be the best face of diversity for the city of Houston!

Men's Four-Part Chorus
The Gay Men's Chorus of Houston was established as the Montrose Singers, Inc. in November 1979. We were one of the first five gay male choruses in the United States, and we've continued to entertain audiences for over 38 years.

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Houston welcomes all men, regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, ability to read music or prior chorus experience. We are a very warm, welcoming community of diverse men who love singing together! Our members are from all backgrounds, income levels, and vocations. Some have studied voice and/or music, while others had never sung in a chorus before. It is this level of diversity that we embrace, and we promote a positive sense of community through the music we sing.

It even gets better than that!
The age range of the Gay Men's Chorus has included teenagers to those in their 70's. We do not exclude anyone because of their sexual orientation either.
Your chorus can be gay, but you don't have to be!

GMCH performs three major concerts and at least one outreach concert per season. The chorus also tours occasionally.
